Haha...Kwanie says I am not blogging enough...so here you see me again...

Like the title, today is just another day. Had Epidemiology in the morning in Renold Building (which means I have to get out of my room earlier). Trying my very best to like the subject, but my motivation seems to be trailing off...:P

Then in the afternoon, after my Subway lunch (seriously, if you are in Manchester, choose Subway over MacDonalds because it is cheaper, healthier and you will be full for the whole afternoon), I had my Basic Life Support training. Let me recall...

    1) Assess the surrounding for any danger
    2) Assess the victim for any response. If not, shake shoulder to test for response
    3) If there isstill no response, call for help
    4) Check for breath and pulse for 10 seconds
    5) If there is no pulse and no breath, perform CPR
    6) Give the victim a head lift and chin tilt so that the tongue will not be obstructing the airway
    7) At the position two fingers above the sternum, stack hand above one another, elbows straighten and do a fast compression 30 times
    8) After 30 compressions, give 2 rescue breaths. Carry on until help arrives or until you are exhausted.

I hope that is correct... then later on, my lecturer showed us how to use a defibrilator. It was way awesome, though you seriously don't want to be in the wrong place when it is giving the victim a shock. If not, you might be the next one having to receive a shock.

Then during dinner time, the person I am angry with and trying to avoid came and sat at the same table where I am. So why am I angry? Because he brought his friends over on three occasions and make so much noise till 5am in the morning that no one in that corridor had a good sleep. My friend tried telling him that he is being very inconsiderate. And you know what he said? Instead of saying sorry, he said "Yar I know. My friends are the ones who want to come over and I have no choice.." At that moment, I feel like putting arsenic into the next thing that he is eating. Seriously, did he not have any brain or mouth to ask his friends to leave? Did he not read the handbook which says all noise are to be kept to a minimum after 11pm and all guests must leave after 12am? Thank goodness he is going to move out next school year, if not I have no idea what I might be doing...

Ok...after the angry post, here is a nice story that my lecturer at Communication for Nursing Practice told us.
Once, after a storm, thousands of starfishes were swept onto the shore. A guy walking along a beach covered with starfishes saw another guy throwing the starfishes back into the sea, one by one. He ran up and told the guy that it will not make any difference, since there were so many starfishes to be rescued. However, the guy looked straight into his eyes and said, "Perhaps. But I am making a difference to this starfish."

    Till then...enough of my rambling...
